Rand and Annika met in college at Georgia Tech where they were both student athletes, and married in 2018. They currently live in Orange County, California where Rand is a Campus Rep for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Cal State Fullerton and Annika competes as a professional beach volleyball athlete. In their free time, Rand and Annika enjoy exploring new places, going to the beach and cooking together.

By way of attending a Jesus-passionate bible study and witnessing the extent of homelessness in Atlanta, Rand and Annika's perspectives on the global poor were dramatically changed. Through friendship with homeless neighbors, they began to grow a heart for loving and serving the global poor. A scripture Rand and Annika try to live by in this regard is Galatians 6:10 - "Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone - especially to those in the family of faith."
