David is an undergraduate student at Duke University interested in global health and medical technology. His parents emigrated from Ethiopia and Eritrea in the late 80s and planted their roots in the United States where they have had three children. David was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota where his family still lives today. Throughout his childhood, he had the privilege of visiting Ethiopia several times and learning first-hand about the troubling conditions that many around the world face. Since then, he has had a passion for service and development work and seeks to effectively give to those in need.
As a student, David is involved in groups surrounding ministry, charity, impact investing, and entrepreneurship. He has always loved building things and hopes to find a career where he can innovate in the medical space. During his free time he enjoys watching movies and longboarding.
